WHAT WE DO  AND HOW WE DO IT

Enhancing Climate Change Adaptation and Resilience

Through various initiatives, we aim to educate and empower local communities to be better prepared for the challenges brought on by climate change. We provide support in the form of training programs, resource management strategies, and sustainable agriculture practices, all with the goal of building resilience and ensuring a more sustainable future for Somalia.

Environmental Education and Awareness

Encouraging environmental education and awareness in Somali local communities is one of the main activities that we have undertaken. To make sure that the communities are aware of the effects of environmental degradations, we hold seminars, awareness campaigns, and educational initiatives. The goal is to instill in people a sense of accountability and ownership for the environment, motivating them to make sustainable decisions in their daily lives.

Climate Security and Environmental Peacebuilding:

By addressing the interconnectedness between climate change and conflict, we work towards preventing and resolving disputes over natural resources, helping to build peaceful and stable communities. Additionally, we promote the conservation and restoration of ecosystems, mitigating the impacts of climate change and fostering environmental harmony. These initiatives not only contribute to climate security but also support overall peace and stability in Somalia.

National and International Policy involvement:

In order to address climate change and the violence in Somalia, policy involvement at the national and international levels is essential. Organizations may impact decision-making processes and guarantee that climate change is given priority by working with governments and supporting sensible climate policies. Moreover, mobilizing resources and support for the implementation of mitigation and adaptation strategies against climate change might be facilitated by international coordination and collaboration. These programs can eventually help to create a resilient and sustainable future for Somalia by interacting with legislators.

Planting Trees

Planting trees is a practical way to combat climate change in Somalia. In order to lessen the consequences of greenhouse gas emissions, trees are essential for both releasing oxygen into the atmosphere and absorbing carbon dioxide. Trees may also promote biodiversity, offer shade and cooling, and lessen soil erosion. Organizations may assist local communities in addition to mitigating the effects of climate change by supporting tree-planting efforts.
